The project “Connecting Peace – Connecting Active Nonviolence” is a 7 day training course dealing with the issue of peacebuilding through active nonviolence in a variety of European and Caucasian countries. The main objectives are to make participants familiar with new and innovative insights and methods on issues of peace, active nonviolence, equality, tolerance, intercultural and interreligious dialogue, and to develop common regional and international projects, thus laying the foundation for a sustainable network of young peacebuilders.

 

The training will take place in Sallingstadt, Lower Austria, and three young people from each of the following countries will take part: Armenia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Moldova, Romania and the United Kingdom. Activities include basics and best practice examples of nonviolent actions and campaigns from the participants themselves as well as the organiser (IFOR), development of own common projects with inputs on project management, intercultural/interreligious dialogue etc. The whole training will be using a variety of innovative and participatory methods like the Theatre of the Opressed (A. Boal), creative writing (Freedom Writers), role plays, group work and outdoor activities as well as short informative presentations.
